What This Site Is

One person's documentation of living abroad with streaming subscriptions and VPN tools. Not a lab. Not a consultancy. The tests here are real, but they're from one rented flat in one city during one stretch of time, with the specific services I was subscribed to at that point. Results elsewhere will vary, and geo-rules change often enough that a guide from six months ago may already be out of date.

How I Test

I don't run quick checks. A service that unblocks iPlayer in the first five minutes can fail by the end of the week. This happens more often than most reviews acknowledge. My pattern is to actually use it for daily streaming across a full stay somewhere, which is usually at least a few weeks. If it fails mid-stay, that goes in the review.

Every subscription here is paid for out of my own pocket, which means when something is frustrating I have a personal stake in saying so. No free trials accepted in exchange for positive coverage.

Some links on this site are affiliate links. Click one, sign up, I get a small cut. No extra cost to you. The commission doesn't change what gets reviewed or how. If a service stopped working for me mid-trip, the review says it stopped working. Paid link or not.

When Things Change

VPN policies and streaming geo-restrictions shift constantly. A guide accurate in Bangkok in February may be wrong by May. I update when I catch changes, but I can't guarantee any specific guide reflects current behavior. If something looks wrong, the contact page is the right place to flag it.
